Hey everyone,
I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've had a lot going on.
A few weeks ago I came across an article about fine-art double exposures. The series is titled Human Nature and it is a collaboration between Erica Simone and Jaci Berkopec. The idea is to take a photograph of a human figure and combine it with a photograph of nature that in some way may represent the muscles or even bones of a human. Check out the link below to see how seriously awesome these are.

An Interview with Joel Meyerowitz
So i'm really excited about this week's post. I just found an article that is an interview recently done with Joel Meyerowitz. Joel Meyerowitz is my favorite photographer, so you could imagine my excitement when something new surfaces. Meyerowitz is an award winning street photographer who has been making photographs for 50 years. He had a major influence in changing the attitude about color photography, however regardless of that, reading this interview with him is totally worth it.

Stripped Down Portraits Expose The Problem With Stereotyping Masculinity As Violent
This article is out-dated, but it's a good thing to see. So very often, people pair the terms masculine and violent together, creating a stereotype against men. However, there are men that exist that are not violent; men that are role models to other people.
The goal of photographer, Jodi Bieber, was to breakdown the connection between masculine and aggressive. She spends one to three hours with each subject in order for him to strip down his "invisible armor". For more information on this project, click the link below.

There's This Thing Called Geometry and It's Beautiful
Happy Wednesday!
So I came across this article that is nothing but photographs of geometrical shapes and patterns found all around us. The shapes and bright colors are eye-catching, along with the repetition of shapes in some of the photographs. Many of them are composed in a slightly abstract manner.
Repetition is one of those things that they teach you about in the basic photography classes, and they claim it is one of the elements that make a good photograph. They teach you all of these "rules" and then tell you that it is okay to break them if they don't help your photograph.
Photography is very, very subjective.

Disclaimer: They are not dizzying.

The Fine Line Between Legal & Illegal
Hey everyone! So this has been in the news a lot lately, artist, Richard Prince sold strangers' Instagram photos for $90,000. This has caused an uproar and a huge debate on whether or not what he did was legal. It's true that when you post something to social media whether it be Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, nothing is safe. Everyone can see it. But does that give them permission to take them and claim them as their own? What do you guys think? Here's a link to the article:
